Johanne Lila Larsen is a classically trained journalist who turned from writing news to teaching herself photography; She wanted to tell deeper stories from everyday life; Yours!
Johanne strongly believes we need to widen the notion of ’normal’. We all struggle with something, and it should be celebrated instead of hidden away; It is what makes us human. Deciding on this way of photographing family is simply deciding to celebrate being human: Meltdowns, belly fat, dirty kids, laughter and tears alike. In the end, these are our lives. Is there anything more precious?
Johanne has photographed family documentary since 2015 – kids have been growing up in front of her lens, and new ones arrived. You are not a client here, you’re family.
As someone who lives polar opposite from her families, she has a unique perspective: not married, no kids, no pets, and no home! Johanne loves the outdoors and has hiked two different Caminos on her own. Living as a nomad, she is mindful of having as small a footprint on the planet as possible – and is also free to come to you, wherever you are, anywhere in Denmark and beyond.
